What Happened When We Don't Give Thanks?

"...give thanks to Him and praise His name” - Psalm 100:4

When someone does something for you or gives you gifts, the natural response to such person should be Thanksgiving i.e to say Thank You.

But what happened when we don't give thanks? 

• Lack of Joy: Thanksgiving brings Joy. When we refuse to be thankful, we become joyless. Joy is not situational.  Happiness is.  Joy is found in the good times and the bad.  Being ungrateful and lacking in thanksgiving block your ability to know and experience joy.  Being thankful fast tracks your ability to be joyful.

• We miss out on worshipping God: Worship starts with Thanksgiving. You can't worship God without been thankful. I’m yet to find the verse that says, “Come before God with the saddest and most frustrated self you’ve got.  Give to God out of the tightly grasped dollars in your pocket.  Enter his courts with complaining on your lips.”  No, the Psalms actually say:
“Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.” (Psalm 95:2)
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name” (Psalm 100:4).
Your worship to God should kickstarted by Thanksgiving.
An ungrateful heart can never experience the True depth of worship to God.
It's dangerous to be ungrateful and thankless. Unthankfulness is a sign of  spiritual decline.
It's another day, a day that the Lord has made, be thankful for this day. No matter what, rejoice and be grateful.

Song: These Walls

You are good and do good;....  - Psalm 119:68  Few months back, I came across an inspiring song by Jason David who happens to be a pastor.  He was diagnosed with cancer. After a year-long fight with cancer that claimed much of his tongue, Pastor Jason David refuses to stop singing.
