Instructions From God

And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: 3  Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;   - Genesis 26:2-3 God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. This was true in the case of Issac in Genesis 26:1-12. There was famine in the land, things were so bad and Issac decide to travel out to a land with better fortunes. But God instructed him not to go but stay. God told him, he will bless him. It look difficult when someone ask you to stay in a place where there is famine, opportunities are so limited,  you might have someone that could readily help you move out. Issac wanted to move out, yet God told him to stay. Remember the story of Naomi, her husband moved himself and family outside the country because of famine without consulting

The Salient Truth About Naomi

And Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them; and the woman (Naomi) was left of her two sons and her husband.  - Ruth 1:5 This morning, I mediated on the story of Naomi in Ruth. She, her husband, two sons and their spouse travelled out of the country for greener pastures. Unfortunately, she lost her husband and two sons abroad and she came back into the country as a widow. There are some great points I picked while studying Naomi's story: • Traveling abroad doesn't necessarily means you're going to make it.  • Leaving certainty for a uncertainty is always a great risk. • There is no shame in returning back home when things are tough outside. The prodigal son was wise enough like Naomi to return back home. • There is no place you can be on this earth that God's blessing can't reach you.  • Ruth was more like a daughter to Naomi. Family is not only about those related to you by blood, some people are more of family to you. • Tragedy befell

Good Report

Demetrius hath good report of all men, and of the truth itself: yea, and we also bear record; and ye know that our record is true.  - 3 John 1:12 Demetrius is mentioned in just this one verse of the Bible, yet it is rich in impact!  First, Demetrius was widely known among believers as a godly man.  Second, his life was consistent with God's truth.  Third, Demetrius received praise from Christian leaders, including the apostle John himself.  In a society where oral testimony held strong value, John's affirmation was a glowing endorsement of Demetrius's spiritual success. Even today, the endorsement of another Christian leader serves as strong evidence of a godly life.  The example of Demetrius is a stark contrast to that of Diotrephes (3 John 1:9–10), who is not to be imitated. In fact, his actions are so harmful that even the elderly apostle John plans to come and confront him face-to-face. Your reputation among people matters a lot because it

True Worshippers

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in  spirit and in truth : for the Father seeketh such to worship him. - John 4:23 Have you ever pray to God on an important matter that you urgently need His intervention? Well most of us have. But have you ever experience that situation wherein that matter didn't look settled or the solution you were expecting didn't come? You pray and pray yet it feel like nothing is happening. Perhaps you have been praying to God for a job, a child, something dear to you and it seems the answer is not forth coming. At times, when we pray and we receive no answer, our faith begin to whither, doubts set in. We still try to believe God is able and He will do it yet nothing is forth coming. There are some things we must understand in our walk with God. Firstly, Because you didn't have what you desire doesn't means God is not God. God is God regardless of your situation. Secondly, God is no

Read!!!

So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the  reading . - Nehemiah 8:8 There is only one way to read a book and that is to read it. Readers are leaders. When you don't read, you become outdated. One way to learn and grow is by reading. Of course reading is as important as the book you read. The types of books you read will determine your actions because the books feeds you with information. Wrong book will not inform you but deform you. Paul went to the Arabia desert to study (Galatians 1:17). You must create time to read and study. Many people go through the day, week, month, year without not reading a book.  The first book I will recommend to you to read is the Bible. Not necessarily because I am a Christian. Far more than that, anyone and everyone can read the Bible. It has capability to transform your life. The Bible is a must read for you if you must enjoy in every ramification of your life.  I

Innovation: Think Long Term

“ No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment. If he does, the new piece will pull away from the old, making the tear worse. And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, he pours new wine into new wineskins.”- Mark 2:21-22 For years now, my favorite handset (phones) has been Blackberry and iphone. The product benefits for the phones is quite cool and beneficial to me. Android has got some many issues on it own. But that is not the main reason for this post. For some time now, Blackberry has been in decline,  it has to open up its closed high-classed messaging app to other platforms to remain relevant. Recently, Blackberry undergo a change process whereby it try to innovate its Phones style, system and platform so as to give it a competitive edge.   Well, while what they did was commendable, it cAme rather too late, Blackberry is struggling to remain relevant in th

Stick To The Word (Conclusion)

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. - John 1:14 In the beginning is the Word and the Word is God and the Word became flesh to dwell with humans (John 1:1, 14). The Word is Jesus. Jesus is The Word I have been talking about in this series, in Him, there is hope. Healing, Deliverance, prosperity and many more things. When you seek after the Word and stick to The Word, you are your way to unlimited bliss. There is no one that goes after The Word and regret it.  Jesus is the Word of God, everything in the scriptures is based on Him, any interpretation of the Bible must be done in the light of Jesus.  The Word conquer, The Word wins, The Word Reign forever and ever. No one has the Word and remains the same.  Sticking to the Word means sticking to Jesus. He never fails. The surest thing that you can hold onto is the Word. My prayer for you is this: God will

Deliverance In The Word

He sent out his word and healed them, and  delivered  them from their destruction. - Psalm 107:20 Continuation On The 'Stick To The Word' Series.  There is Deliverance in The Word. Deliverance means to set free. The Devil and his agents are busy oppressing people all over the world. He enslaves the people, steal from them, kill them and destroy them.  But Thank God for the Word, we can be delivered from all these oppression of the evil one. The Word of God can and will set free if you stick to it. Those that stick to the Word does enjoy Deliverance from any form of oppression from the devil and others. Are you suffering from any demonic oppression or the devil is dealing you some punches? You have got to take cover. The Word of God is the Truth and the Truth sets free. I pray for you today that every demonic oppression over you and your family is terminated in Jesus Name. I declare and decree that you are free from any form of bondage. The Word works wonders

Provision in the Word

The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; But they who seek the LORD shall not be in want of any good thing. - Psalm 34:10 Yesterday post, I talked about healing in the word; there is healing for those that stick to the Word. Another thing available in the Word is Provision When you stick to the Word and do what the Word says, you won't lack. One major problem in our world today is Lack. Everyday, people die of hunger, lack. Lack is when you can't afford your basic needs of life. Food, Shelter and Clothing are the basic needs of life. God is a great provider, He has assured us in His Word of His unlimited in-exhausted provisions. It's not good that a believer is begging for bread and yet serve a very rich God. God is the God that provides for His children. It's not God's desire to see His Children experiencing lack. There is Provision in the Word. When we do what the Word says, we are assured of the provisions of God. Stick to the Word and you shall

Healing In The Word

He sent out His word and healed them, - Psalm 107:20 These days despite the advancement of technology in the area of medicine. Countless number of people still died from various Ailments.   Unfortunately there is this school of thought that believes we get sick because of our sins. What a wrong and evil concept. God is not a Wicked God neither will He punish you with sickness. Nope. God is the great Healer, He can heal any of our diseases. He has sent forth His Word and His Word has healed our diseases. The Word of God says we are healed.  You must start listening to the World and apply it because there is healing in the Word. I don't know whatever the doctor tells you, as long as it is not in the Word, you can reject it. The problem with some of us is we see the Word as the last resort, after we have try everything that we could, then we remember the Word. The Word is not meant to be the last resort. The Word of God heAls This morning I pray for the sick on

Help From Above

"Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and He saved them from their distress.”   - Psalms 107:13 Have you ever cried out, "God help me!" Remember God knows all the troubles and problems that you face. His promises cover the entire range of our needs, troubles, and problems. He wants us to lay hold on these promises for help in every time of need. I don't know your problems, troubles, difficulties, and needs. Maybe you are going a tough phase of life right now and you are looking for a miracle or breakthrough Whatever you are going through and you need help, There is only one place and one person to look up to: The Almighty God. Now forget religion, forget motivational speakers, forget the politicians. Help doesn't come from them. Help comes from the Lord. God can use them for you but it's not limited to them. God is always ready to help us, it is left for us to receive the help. As a matter of fact, He has already helped us by giving u

Be An Achiever - Part 2

May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.” - Psalm 20:4  To be an achiever, you must understand there will be obstacle, the road won't be smooth all the way and you must be innovative and creative enough to turn overcome that obstacle. Zacchaeus   has a goal to see Jesus but He was short, that was an obstacle but instead of that to stop him, he improvise. To be an achiever, you must not give up. Winners don't quit and quitter don't win. Paul admonish believers to run to the finish line so as to get the winning crown. When you win, your loses don't matter anymore. An achiever won't give up as long as there is life. To be an achiever, you must learn from others. There are people that have been where you are, there are people that have run that race, learn from their failure and learn from their success.  It's my prayer for you that everything you have set to achieve, the Almighty God will strengthen you to achieve th

Be an Achiever - Part 1

“May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.” - Psalm 20:4  Everyone wants to achieve something in life. We all want to move to the next level. We all want to have this and have that. However some doesn't know how to get there while some only know the wrong way to get there. There is nothing wrong with us setting out to achieve. It's an inbuilt human trait for us to be an achiever, no doubt. What could be wrong is the way we go about it. To be an achiever, you must have an attainable, measurable and realistic goal. When you have no goal, you have nothing to achieve. Moses was able to lead the children of Israel because He has a goal: The Promise Land. To be an achiever, you must concentrate your resources towards that goal. When Solomon was to build the temple, every resource his father has gathered was geared towards that building project, he didn't veer out to start another project. To be an achiever, you must be focus on

Limiting The Unlimited God

Now unto him that is able to do  exceeding  abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us   - Ephesians 3:20 The popular verse that says God is able to exceeding abundantly what we ask of Him to do beyond our imagination. But the verse don't just stop there, it conclude with this, according to the power that works in us.  Here is what the first part told us, God is unlimited, God works beyond our way. Our human brain can't even comprehend the ways of God. He is always full of surprises and like Nathaniel Bassey will say 'Just Like That'. But the second part told us something equally important. If anything is going to limit God, it will be you and I. God is limited by you. How? You may ask, because the level of power you have in you determine the extent at which God is going to work in you. Let me put it this way: You have a big fridge, electric appliances and other gadgets in the house and you have a small generator to

Winning The Battle Over Depression

The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. -Psalm 9:9 Depression is real, and if you are fighting it you are not alone. Depression seems to have been the bane of many of life’s great leaders. In the Bible, Moses, Elijah, David, and Job all had to deal with it.  We all at a certain point of our life go through a difficult times and it do weigh us down. At times, you become so depressed and you feel so sorry for yourself.  Sometimes depression can be a purely spiritual thing. Depression is the physical and emotional result of hopelessness – the ‘ feeling ‘ of hopelessness. We live in a world devoid of hope, and depression is the emotional product of that reality. The only thing that will actually change one’s life sufficiently as to destroy the cause, mechanics, and effects of depression is God’s hope and His word of hope. The answer is to get God’s hope back inside of you. Hope will let you again see the ‘future positive possibility’ of your

If Men Were God

He sends  rain  on the just and on the unjust. - Matthew 5:44 It's raining as I type this post and I remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:45 where he talks about  God sending the rain on both the just and unjust. God won't because are a sinner or a bad personal withdraw the rain from Falling on your side. One special trait we are to emulate from God is that we should not discriminate. If men were God, the rain will be raining only on the good, the sun will be shinning only on the perfect. We humans readily discriminate, we isolate those we feel are not perfect or good. We see those who have sinned as been candidates of hell as if we haven't sinned before. One major problem of our society is discrimination. Even in church, we discriminate, we see that prostitute and we readily condemned her. We readily forget that as children of God, we don't just do good to good people, we are to do good to everybody. It doesn't matter how bad a person might be, you

Don't Give The Devil a Foothold

Neither give place to the devil.  - Ephesians 4:27 Paul the apostle wrote a book of admonishment to the folks in Ephesus. He knew they were born again but they need to understand the new life they are in now and they should bE encouraged not to go back to their old way of life. He told them what is expected of them. In the 27th verse of the 4th chapter, Apostle Paul  exhort them not to give the devil a chance in their life. So many things happen in our lives, people offend us, we are been back stabbed, those who are to be there for us disappoint. We felt bitter and resentment towards those folks. Apostle Paul advise that while it's okay to be angry, we shouldn't let the devil have a stronghold in our lives through that. So many relationships, careers, education, glory has been destroyed and messed up because we couldn't handle well the hurt that people has done to us.   The devil is so cunning that given even the slightest space, he will make use of it. We

Watchmen...

For some reasons I decided to watch the season movie 24 that has been out for over a decade. Call me stale. Duh! isnor my fault 🙈🙈. In this post, I'd be commenting on two characters: David Palmer and Jack Bauer. For the sake of those who haven't seen the movie, David Palmer acted the role of the president of the United States of America and he was seen to be an upright man who would always tell the truth regardless of the consequences. His integrity quotient was really high. Jack Bauer on the other hand acted the role of the director of the Counter Terrorism Unit and was seen as a guy who broke the law not fearing its consequences. However, Jack broke the law not for the fun of it, but for the greater good. Lives were at stake and the bureaucracy and sons of belial in the system would not allow results to be delivered. Therefore we can say Jack was doing the good thing by breaking the law but not the right thing, which puts his integrity to question. In this series, David

Death, Legacy & After-Life

Jesus said to her,  “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;  - John 11:25 Death is not a new thing to mankind. We all would die someday, that is not news. What should matter to us is what happens after death. If you die now, what is your fate? Do you know where you gonna spend your after-life? Our life should be lived based on two things, leaving a good legacy behind and making heaven. The latter is the most important because if you live life here on earth without making heaven, it's nothing but a waste. Stop fearing death, rather start living,  I want to live and live and when I die, I want to hear my Father tells me 'Welcome my faithful son'. In summary: • There is life after this physical death, whether you believe it or not.  • All men are also appointed to died once. Death is sure for you and I • The gateway to heaven is Jesus. You can only make heaven through Jesus, no one else but Him. •

Loyal Faith

But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. - Daniel 1:8 Daniel was part of the brilliant kids that were selected to serve the Babylonian King. He and his other three friends came from Judah, they were to be put on a 3-year strict diet regime before appearing to serve the King. Daniel decided in his heart not to defile himself with the food of the Babylonian because back then it's a common practice that food were offered to idols before been eaten. Daniel was a young cute guy who has been selected to serve the King, it was an enviable position, but despite it all, Daniel was ready to serve God in every capacity he found himself in even at the risk of rejecting the laid down food offered by the palace. This shows Daniel's loyalty to his faith in God. He was ready to go any length to
