Say No to Bribe

And thou shalt take no bribe: for bribery blinds the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous. - Exodus 23:8 Can you help someone without asking for something in return? Can you as a man help a lady without not asking her out? Can you award a contract without asking for gratification? Can you carry out your job functions without not taking kickback? Can you be n impartial referee in a game without be partial? Yesterday, series of events happened but one of the one that stood out for me is  an event when series of young men and women refuse to take bribe in this times, in this recession, in this age. It really brought smiles to me. Corruption has really dented the image of the country Nigeria to the extent that trust is fast eroding. Virtually every sector of the country has this monster call corruption fighting them. But I have come to discover, the problem doesn't just lie with the leaders but also the followers. If you re not corruption free as a follower, you will be c

The Unchangeable Changer

The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. - Luke 18:27 I reasoned yester-nite that the reasons we sometimes faced difficult situation, tough challenges is not really to sink us down rather, it is to show the Glory of God. Maybe you are going through a tough moment, a health issues, financial challenge, academic problems, looking for a job? Marital issues, barrenness, poverty etc... and it seems solutions has eluded you. That is where it becomes clear that as humans, we are very much limited in solving certain problems. But there is God and nothing is too hard for Him to do. He can change your story around. I'm not trying to just motivate and inspire you. Nope! I'm telling you the truth that there is an Unchangeable Changer the can make the impossible possible. Don't just think you have problems and life is like that, good to some, bad to some. Nope. All you need do is Call unto God. Just pour out your mind to Him, don't bother yourself with

I will sing of the Mercies of the Lord...

I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations. - Psalms 89:1 This morning, I remember one of my favorite and beautiful songs and I started singing it over and over. The song lyrics is the first verse of eighty ninth chapter of the book of Psalms . This Psalm was composed during some season of great national distress, perhaps Absalom's rebellion. It contrasts the promised prosperity and perpetuity of David's throne (with reference to the great promise of 2Sa 7:12-17), with a time when God appeared to have forgotten His covenant. The picture thus drawn may typify the promises and the adversities of Christ's kingdom, and the terms of confiding appeal to God provided appropriate prayers for the divine aid and promised blessing. "I will sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever." A devout resolve, and very commendable when a man is exercised with great trouble on account of an apparent departur

Be Humble

For whosoever exalt himself shall be abased; and he that humble himself shall be exalted. - Luke 14:11 Exaltation comes from been humble. When you start to exalt yourself, that is pride. An a pride person doesn't last long. t is a part of God's regular plan to abase the proud, to bring down the lofty, to raise up those that be bowed down, and show "his" favors to those who are humble. Humility doesn't mean being stupid or too quiet. Nope! It means simplicity. To be humble is to be simple. Great men are simple men. Mother Theresa was a simple-to-the-core woman and she affected lives positively with her simplicity. We came to this life with nothing (physical) and we ain't taking anything when we are dead. It cost you nothing to be simple. Pride, boastfulness, domineering attitude are not for you It's has been a great week for you. So unwind during this weekend an enjoy your self. Good Morning beloved and do have a wonderful day. #ThrivingWords

Go The Extra Mile

And he (Zacchaeus) ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see Him (Jesus): for he (Jesus) was to pass that way. - Luke 19:4 The above verse is about a short rich top management government worker who had a goal, a purpose, a target; which is to meet with Jesus (the unchangeable Changer). This rich man has a goal but he also had a challenge, his stature was an obstacle to him achieving his goal. The obstacle didn't deter him. He find a way by climbing on top a tree. A rich man climbs a tree!!! You hardly gonna find that these days. How far are you willing to go to achieve your goal? Will you go the extra mile to fulfill your destiny. Obstacles will surely be on the road. Challenges will be there. Problems will be waiting for you. Will you give up or will you face it and conquer it by going the extra mile. The season you are in now is not a season to complain. Be willingly to stretch yourself. Opportunities are missed because folks refuse to go out of their comfor

Marriage, Loneliness and Help-Meet

And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. - Genesis 2:18 One of the reasons why God institute marriage is to stop loneliness. But statistics show there are increasingly lonely spouses in marriage. One can't but ask what exactly is wrong. Eve was an help meet for Adam. Loneliness don't just fade when you marry, it fades when you marry your help meet. The word help meet in this context means one as before him, or correspondent to him, his counterpart, suitable to his nature and his need, one like himself in shape, constitution, and disposition, a second self: one to be at hand, or near to him, to converse familiarly with him, to be always ready to succour and comfort him, and whose care and business it should be to please and help him. To the Singles, before you marry, you got to be careful you marry someone who will be your help meet. Marriage is better when you marry your help meet. That is our God designed

Work: Find something to Do

And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. - Genesis 2:15 You gotta ask yourself while God decide to put man in the Garden when he could put the upkeep of the garden on autopilot. It's very simple. God want man to work and not be idle. God gave man a work to do. This was even before the fall of man. Some of us erroneously believed man has to work because of the curse. That is far from the truth. Unemployment is rising in every part of the world, yet that is not enough reason for you to be idle. Find something to do. Don't just sit idle in the name of searching for a white-collar job. Volunteer to do something in your community, or why don't you go learn a trade or skills. Idleness is dangerous, God knows that which is why He gave man work to do. God Himself worked (he created for six days) and if we claim to be like Him, We must work. It's another day, the start of a working week. Maybe you don't have an of

Be Fruitful

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, ... - Genesis 1:28 One of the first blessings God pronounced on Mankind was the blessing of fruitfulness. To be fruitful is to be full of fruits. A tree is said to be fruitful because it is full of fruits. You are said to be fruitful when you are witnessing  bringing people to the Kingdom of God. Fruitfulness is a sign that you are fulfilling destiny. Every believer have the right to be fruitful. The kingdom of God is about fruitfulness. The Pharisees acted as if they were close to God, but their hearts were distant and disconnected from Him. Therefore, the fruit they were producing was rotten. When you live a life that brings people to the Kingdom, you are fruitful. Jesus said, “If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:5). Our fruitfulness is related to how deep we are in Jesus. You become fruitful when you are in Jesus doing what He ask you to do. Bef

Be in Order

Let all things be done decently and in order. 1 Corinthians 14:40 Have you ever try bringing out all your clothes from the box, iron them neatly and arrange them back into the bag? What do you notice? You have extra space to put in more clothes. That is Order. Order naturally brings increase. When you are in order, you struggle less. When you are in Order, it is easy to expand. Success would last when there is decency and order. Be intentional about your finances, be intentional about your Life. Don't just live life unprepared, unscheduled, not-ready. Plan your decisions, evaluate it. Even God the almighty is always intentional. He doesn't bless by mistakes Many a people live life in a default-mode. For your marriage to work, for your business/career to thrive, for your relationship to grow, for your finances to increase, you have to MAKE it work, you decided to make it work and not just leave it in default mode. Don't leave anything to chance, Plan your day, plan y

Anger Management

Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he shouted to the people, Hear now, you rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock? 11 And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the people drank, and their livestock also. - Numbers 20:10-11‎ Anger is a perfectly normal human emotion and, when dealt with appropriately. We all feel angry from time to time, yet this feeling can lead us to say or do things that we later regret. Anger can reduce our inhibitions and make us act inappropriately.   Moses out of anger destroyed the original commandment God gave Him on Mount Sinai. God did not rebuke him for that. But forty years later, Moses' rash, impatient anger exploded in rage, and he disobeyed God and struck a rock twice with his rod instead of speaking to it as God had commanded. For this display of anger, Moses was rebuked by God and forbidden to enter the Promised Land

MoneyWise: Don't Spend All You Have

Now when he had spent everything, a severe famine occurred in that country, and he began to be in need - Luke 15:14 When you spend everything you have, you are bound to suffer in recession. More and more people keep complaining of the economy simply because they have spent everything they have. The prodigal son has no investments, all he does is to spend. As a man, if all you do is spend, you are prodigal. The essence of savings and investing can't be overemphasized. A government that spends more than its revenue (without raking in more revenue) will soon crash in a matter of time. We all live in a world where uncertainty keep rising. Don't be spendthrift in this economy. Be wise. Don't buy everything you want, instead, prioritize your spending. When buying, watch-out for the long term. Increase your asset, decrease your liability. As a government, spot out the unnecessary wastes in government, cut down frivolous expenses. As a business owner, before buying anythi

Two are Better than One

Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. - Ecclesiastes 4:9 Two  Or more, who live together in any kind of society, and join their powers together in pursuit of any important object; are better than one — Act more cheerfully, and accomplish their designs more readily, than any of them could do in a solitary state; because they have a good reward for their labour — Have great benefit by such combinations and conjunctions of their counsels and abilities, whereby they exceedingly support, encourage, and strengthen each other, and effect many things which none of them could have effected alone. Through partnership, you can achieve more. There is power in partnership. Many times you have an idea that you can't execute on your own, try teaming up with an experience person. It's another start of brand new week, think achievement, think partnership... Remember when you walk alone, you walk fast but when you walk together, you walk far. Good M

Time to laugh

He will once again fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy. - Job 8:21 Laughing is an amazing gift from God. It helps you cope with sadness and everyday life. Have you ever felt mad and then someone said something to make you laugh? Even though you were upset the laughter made your heart feel better. It’s always great to have a cheerful heart and laugh with family and friends. There’s a time to laugh and there’s a time not to. For example, bad jokes that have no business in your Christian life, making fun of others, and when someone is going through pain. Leaders need to laugh and know how to laugh. It’s important for the soul and for others who follow your lead. If everything is serious then, really, nothing is serious. It is for reasons like this Christian jokes should be read and shared often. And besides, they’re just plain funny! ....so on a Lighter Note...: A new pastor was visiting the homes of his parishioners. At one house it seemed obvious t

Becareful of What You tell Others

And he (King Herod) sent them (the Wisemen) to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also. - Matthew 2:8 The king ask the wise men to get back to him not because he want to worship the young child but because he want to kill him. Many a times, we have let out information, tips and data that the enemy is using against us. It's not every business ideas that you have that you speak out. Many lives have been destroyed because of information in the wrong hands. In the business world, competitors seek information that can be used against one another. The same in politics.... Be careful of who you talked with, be careful of who relate with you. Jesus life as a baby was preserve because the wise men didn't go back to King Herod to tell the location of the baby. At certain times, some things are better kept to oneself. Joseph almost got killed because he shared his dream

Taste and see that the LORD is good: - Psalm 34:8 Good Morning beloved, I can tell you that I have actually benefited from MMM. Execrise Your Body

For bodily exercise profit little: - 1 Timothy 4:8 This post is about one thing and I would go straight to the point; exercise is good. Some of us are too "holy" that we hardly swim, run, jog, jump, play football, basketball and many more. Yes, the spiritual matters a lot, the physical matters too. There is profit (even if it's little) in exercising our bodies. Medical practitioners do advise that we regularly exercise the body. One of the factor for a healthy body and a sound mind is exercise. When last did you do that rope skipping game, when last did you play that table tennis. Of course moderation is the key. Many a people do underestimate the usefulness and value of exercise. If you don't exercise, you are doing your body no good. Today is Saturday, what better day can you have to exercise than today. Go out there, run a mile or two, kick a ball, play the rope skipping with your kids. You have work from Monday to Friday, it's time to unwind.... Go

Good or Bad Report?

Boaz replied to her, "I have been given a full report of all that you have done for your mother-in-law following the death of your husband--how you left your father and your mother, as well as your homeland, and came to live among people you did not know previously. - Ruth 2:11 Boaz didn't know Ruth in person but she heard of her. How? People told him about her. In life, whatever we do, people are watching. People are giving testimony about you. It could be good or bad. Which is why you need to do good. Words go a long way than where your legs could even reach. At times, some bad things you did in the past comes to hurt you because someone told some people about it. If Ruth has been a bad person, she wouldn't have found favour in the eyes of Boaz. You think people are not seeing the extra effort you are putting? Think again. Some people have lost an opportunity simply because someone gave a bad report and vice versa. People are watching you. People you don't eve

Genuine Peace

...he had peace on all sides round about him. - 1 Kings 4:24 If you live in a room, where unknown to you, a python is hid in a box, you are likely to be at peace out of ignorance of the danger nearby. But the day the box is opened and you know what you've been living with then trouble starts. It is the same thing in the world today. There are two classes of people; those who have genuine peace and those who appear peaceful out of ignorance of what is at stake! To which class do you belong? Do you have genuine peace? Genuine peace comes not by acquiring wealth, power or fame but by being justified when your sins have been washed away only by the blood of Jesus. I ask again, do you have genuine peace? Don't deceive yourself, alcohol, illicit sex, drugs, friendship, misleading philosophy, membership of secret societies cannot and will not be replaced with genuine peace. Do you want to have genuine peace,   do you want to experience the peace of God in every area of life

Believe

And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord. - Luke 1:45 Napolen Hill said 'whatever the mind of a man can conceive and believe, it can be achieved.' In the believers race, you need to believe even when all odds seems against you. What God has said will surely come to pass. The same angel visited Zechariah and Mary. Zech became dumb because he didn't believe, Mary became blessed simply because she believe. What are those things that God has said that you are finding difficult to accept. In our walk with God, we need to understand that the tangible comes from the intangible, hence our need for faith. God said it, you believe it, that settle it. It's November, the year is running out, many good things are still coming to pass in your life this year. Believe and there shall be performance of these things. No matter how impossible it is. Believe. The doctor told you, you are dying, believe that

Put God First

You shall have no other gods before me.  - Exodus 20:3 Idol worshiping is not until you go to bow down in a shrine or  strange temple. Anything you place above God is an idol. When you prioritize anything before God, you are simply an idol worshiper. Many folks practically have no time for their Creator simply because of work, family, needs/wants etc. Of course, God want you to focus on your work, love your family and do other great things. But in it all, He should come first. When you relegate God to the back seat, you put yourself in a dangerous position. God want to drive you to greater heights but you are not allowing Him to drive because something or someone else is driving you. Your Life will be a whole lot easier if you could make God your First in all things. It's the first day of another month. It's November, start this month on a great note by re adjusting your priorities and make God your First and first only. Good Morning and I pray this month will be f
