Preservation: Lockdown But Not Locked Out

One major question on the lips of some Christians is can God still bless someone this lockdown? can God still perform miracles this lockdown? All my prayer points, can they still get answered during this lockdown? The answer is Yes! Yes!! Yes!!! . The blessings of the Lord is not subject to any physical lockdown.. We look at our bible text Genesis 41, in verse 54 , the whole earth was in a kind of lockdown we called famine, hunger ravage the whole earth but something interesting happened, despite the famine on earth, the Land of Egypt had bread. Is Egypt not part of the earth? Yes it is. So why do they have bread despite the earth being on Lockdown? It's because the wisdom of God had showed unto Joseph the route of escape from the famine or lockdown. God is the same yesterday, today and forever more. He is not a man that would change, he is the unchangeable changer. What He did in Egypt, He can still do it for you. The lockdown is biting hard on people, it's not becaus

Prospering in Difficult Times

The world is in a difficult situation, covid-19 pandemic is on rampage all over the world, oil prices are at the lowest point in history, Crisis in the middle east, terrorism /insecurity in Africa, finacial crisis in Europe, mass shooting in the United States, Bush fires in Austria and one could continue counting. This is not to scare you but to let you know: the world had always be in crisis since the downfall of mankind. And it's not going to get any better. Many people are going to get killed, evil attacks and disaster will be on the rise. That has always been how the world has been moving. But that's not all, There is an Irony in the story, in the midst of all this troubles and difficult times, one can still rise above them all . Yes the world is troubled but you can have peace even in the midst of the trouble. Doing what God says save us from troubles. When Jesus was still a baby, God through His Angel directed Joseph and Mary to take the baby to Egypt. They obeyed a

Let's Talk About SEX - Part 3

Good day to you. This is the third part of the Let's Talk About SEX series. If you missed the first two  parts, I advised you go read them, below are the links: Let's Talk About Sex  - Part 1 Let's Talk About Sex  - Part 2 I will be dwelling on prevalence of pre-marital sex in this third part. Pre-marital simply means sex before marriage. In our societies these days, abnormal has become the new normal. Historically,  premarital sex  was considered a moral issue which was taboo in many cultures and considered a sin by a number of religions, but since about the 1960s, it has become more widely accepted, especially in Western countries. It's generally believed that sex before marriage reduces the value of a person (especially women). It is always expected that both partners will abstain from sex until their wedding night. Although the focus was more on women than the men. Nowadays, all that has change. The medial, what we read, listen and watch, even our

Let's Talk About SEX - Part 2

I started a series yesterday on sex. As expected, I've received countless reaction (both positive and negative) and more importantly, folks all over Africa has reached out to me to thank me for writing about the topic and they want to know more. Another person told me it's immoral to talk about sex , I laughed. Some feel uncomfortable with it, some feel liberated. If you want to reach out to me or have any questions, you could send me a email on thrivekonsult@gmail.com . Of course every mail is treat confidentially. Before I continue, I would like to state that this series are entirely my views and you may not necessarily agree with everything but I still urge you to read with an open mind. I started with reasons why people have sex and the consequences (positive and negative) of having sex. I stated that there is a right way of having sex. As humans, we all have sexual organs, sexual drive (libido) and sexual feelings. It is perfectly normal to have sexual feelings. Se

Let's Talk About SEX

Sex is a topic I've been wanting to write about and I have also been shying away from it. Maybe because of the sensitive nature or the controversies that surrounds or perharps the way sex is been viewed as in this part of the world. Yeah believe it or not, the way the West view sex is greatly different from the way Africans view it. Sex generally means sexual intercourse . The intercourse ain't the focus today. The spotlight is on why do humans have sex and what are the consequences of having it. One major reasons humans have sex is for pleasure. Mehn, sex is damn sweet! it's pleasuring! The climax, orgasm are really 'heavenly' experience. That's enough! right? So folks have sex in order to enjoy themselves. It's a fact. Another reason for sex is procreation. Thanks to technology, you can make babies without sex. Not withstanding sex is primarily, manly and traditionally the way to procreate i.e. make babies. I will stop at that two reasons (actua

Lockdown Day 14: Start and Finish

Everything that has a beginning has an end. What ever you 've started will surely come to a stop someday. Today is Lockdown Day 14. The last day of our 14-day lockdown. To have a good finish, you have to ensure you started well. If the starting is not okay, finishing becomes difficult than intended. To start something is easy, finishing it is the difficult aspect. It takes determination, courage and discipline to start it and finish it. During this lockdown, I encouraged us to start doing something, some people may have started it but truth is fewer people will finish it. An achiever in life is someone that starts and never give up till the end. What have you started in life and you've abandon it half way? In a race, you are only a winner when you've ran from starting line to the finishing line. No matter how good and fast you might be as a runner or even how well you started, if you don't reach the finish line, you can never win. Winners are finishers. W

Lockdown Day 13: Death Before Resurrection

Most Christian from all over the world are celebrating 'Easter'. Easter usually start on Friday (good Friday) where it's usually believe that Jesus died on a Friday and rose up the third day, Sunday. There is one notable lesson to draw from the Easter story of the Christian Religion. Before there was a resurrection, there was a death. In other words, death comes before resurrection happens. While death is not really a good thing most times, resurrection is mostly the good one. Which is why most people downplay the good Friday, they always expat the resurrection sunday because Jesus rose from the grave. Truth is there wouldn't have been a resurrection without death. In life, we all want to get to the Top but MST wouldn't want to start from the bottom climbing way up. We all want to have money but most wouldn't want to work to get it. We all want our problems solved but most wouldn't want to face that problems and overcome it. We are want the covid

Lockdown Day 12: Perseverance

During this lockdown, people are gonna learn about more about perseverance and patience. Perseverance is the ability to stand up and take a step forward when everyone else sits down. It is to forge ahead when others are giving up. Some countries are extending their lockdown, more could be extending it as well but all is in a bid to end this pandemic which is already slowing down. People resolve is really been stretch to the limit. The lockdown is biting hard on most people, no doubt but this is the time to learn the art of perseverance for the greater good. Sometimes in life, we go through certain tough moments just so we can the blissful ones. Tough situations don't last but tough people do. The lockdown is not going to last long, so it's important we keep persevering. Manage what you have at this moment. Learnt the art of patience in times like this. We would surely scale through this difficult moment. Life would return back to normal (though in a new way). Peopl

Lockdown Day 11: Good News

Yesterday was full of good news as there are reports of countries that are starting to flattening the curve as regards this pandemic outbreak. One important thing we should have learnt during this lockdown is this: good news matters a lot. The past few weeks has been gloomy, bad news everywhere, businesses closed down, money not coming in, people in dire needs, hospitals been overwhelming, victims dying daily, fear and panic has taken over. In all this, you could do with a good news. Good news is like a medicine to the heart, it's the opposite of sorrow. Of a truth, so many bad things are happening but we must make conscious effort to see the good in every situation. We should stop been permisitic, we must be hopeful and always desire good things. Get away from the news coverage, they are mostly filled with bad news  because bad news sells fast. Intentional seek out good news. No matter how small the ray of hope might be, seek it out. Things might be bad now but we must k

Lockdown Day 10 - Be Your Brothers/Sisters Keeper

During this lockdown, many people will face one hardship or the other. For some, it will be slightly tough, for some, it's really tough. For those who are still able to scale through despite this lockdown, let us not forget the needy around us during this lockdown. It is very important that we gear up our acts if benevolence. Of course, you are to look after yourself first no doubt but the little you can do to support the needy around you, kindly do it. What people need especially this period are foodstuff. Let's be our brother's and sister's keeper during this crisis. Someone around you is having it tough, if you can assist, kindly reachout to him/her/them. Definitely, this lockdown won't last forever; everything will soon be over. In the meantime, let's help one another. There have been reports of individuals, NGOs and religious centre giving out foodstuff and money to the less privileged, that is good and we can do more. This is the time for us t

Lockdown Day 9 - Flattening The Curve

One of the reasons why governs asked people to stay at home during this pandemic is to stop the spread of the coronavirus. If any infected person stays at home for 14 days, he should either been showing symptoms no or has been able to fight the virus with his body natural immune system. Covid-19 virus is really deadly in terms of the way it spread. Halting it is becoming difficult hence the lockdown in most cities. When people do not observe the stay-at-home lockdown, we jeopardize the effort of our medical personnel at the forefront of this battle against covid-19 and put everyone at risk. We should learn a lot from Italy, they were complacent in fighting the virus initially.  The President of the United States, Donald Trump initially dismiss the severity of the virus as far as December 2019. This is not the time to be resting on our oars, we need to flatten the curve. As long as cases keep sky rocketing, there is a likelihood of the lockdown been extended. Yes people are

Lockdown Day 8: Do Something New

As we all know, most major cities round the world are in a lockdown mode. Staying indoor could really be a tough one for some people. But it is also an opportunity to try something new, learn something new. The lockdown will come to an end, and life would gradually return back to normal. But wouldn't you mind gaining something during this lockdown. Like I pointed out on the first day, our mind don't have to be on lockdown. Think more, read more, learn more, etc. Good enough, there are many free online courses flying around; choose the one you can do. What you choose to do with your time during this lockdown gotta determine your progress after this lockdown. Don't just sit down doing nothing during this lockdown except that you really need to. Don't also be pressurised into doing something you don't want to do during the lockdown. Don't just try something because everyone is trying it. No, be specific about what you want, be intentional about it. Maybe you

Lockdown Day 7 - Fake News & Wrong Information

It's excatly a week since the beginning of a state-owned lockdown in Lagos Nigeria. Since the beginning of this outbreak, there have been so many conspiracy theories about this Covid-19 outbreak. Some very confusing, some very laughable. One of the popular one is that the Covid-19 virus is caused by the 5g technology and to worsen it, says it's not humanly transmitted but people are infected. Sadly, some of my friends do believe this rubbish claims. I call it rubbish because they didn't do their findings to know if it's true or not, they just believe it. Fake news and wrong information is gaining foothold during this period. We need to be careful of what we hear and believe. Technology might be use for evil purposes,  no doubt but there is no magic in all these things. Fake news, wrong information are so malicious that it literally create great fear and panic. What we need to do as sensible people is not to help in circulating these malicious informations. Som

Lockdown Day 6: Fear or Bravery

It's day 6 and I'm beginning to wonder how the aftermath of this pandemic will be: There is fear everywhere. People are panicking. No one seem prepared for this Covid-19 outbreak. It's a deadly plague. People are dying in thousands, it's that bad. But more than the plague itself is the fear it brings. What kill most people with terminal disease is mostly fear. Folks, this not the time to start panicking. We all got to stop worrying. The fear of the unknown is killing. Panicking is only going to make things worst. We all need to calm down or else we will be losing our sanity to fear. Of a true, It's easier said than done. Many people earn their daily wages out there on the streets, they can't do that anymore. Governments ain't helping as expected. A lot of people are in confusion. So it's kinda legit and right to be scared. The world has always been in a mess. It only  take the brave to go through and you know what; it takes been brave not to

Lockdown Day 5 - Lessons To Be Learnt Part 3

Hello folks! I trust we all are doing well. The Covid-19 is really taking its toll on people. Death rate is low in comparison to the confirmed cases, if there is anything we all need now, it is good news. Another lesson we can learn from this lockdown is this: Boredom - Importance of relationships One major thing that affects and even kill the aged people has been boredom or loneliness as some might call it. Some people will be experiencing that during this lockdown. That will afford us the opportunity of seeing life from the lens of our aged people and how we should relate with them. They need someone to talk to, someone to relate with. If you have aged people among you, please do check up on them, have a chat with them, play with them. We also will become old in the future and we definitely don't to be left alone.  Of course, not everyone is lonely but virtually everyone will feel a form of boredom one way or the other. For the extrovert folks, it could really be to

Lockdown Day 4: Lessons to be Learnt Part 2

Good day everyone. Trust our day is starting out well. Today is the Day 4 of the 14-Day Lockdown. I believe we all are getting through. I will continue on the Lessons we all need to learn from this lockdown. Yesterday, I mention planning as the first lesson to learn. When we plan well, we wouldn't always be taken by surprise. The second lesson to learn is what our priorities are in life. During this lockdown, one major thing you will notice is that those things you actually take more important ain't that important than what you take less important. We need to review what our priorities are. During this period, you will discover that somethings are actually important than money. Good health, family, relationship are really important. Most workaholic will realize how empty their lives is at the moment simply because they have neglect other things and are just so focused on work and work alone. They have done this at the expense of other important things in

Lockdown Day 3: Lessons To Be Learnt

Good day to you folks, I hope we all are staying safe during this Covid-19 pandemic. Some countries are in lockdown mode. I just hope it ain't biting hard for you. I started a special writing for this lockdown period, hopefully it shouldn't be more than 14 days. We know what the greatest lockdown is and how we can be free from it. Today, I'm writing on lessons we can learn from this lockdown. Yes, there are numerous lessons, but I will be picking just few of them. Lesson 1: Planning There is this popular adage which says 'He who fails to plan has plan to fail'. This lockdown period has expose so many people, family companies, governtments who have fail to plan or who plan shabbily or woefully. Nobody knows tomorrow which is why we should even plan the more. We shouldn't leave our lives, business etc to chances or luck. It will be irresponsible of us not to think about the future today. Contingencies plans has to be made. True, we can't plan

Lockdown Day 2: Setting Your Mind Free....

Good day to you. I trust you are doing great. The world is in a perilous time as Covid-19 pandemic is ravaging the world. Everything will be fine, do not panic.  Yesterday I started discussing what the greatest lockdown is; it is the lockdown of the mind. Mental lockdown is really really not good for anyone. So, how do we break free from this mental lockdown. Out physical movement might be restricted but that doesn't mean our mental faculty should als be restricted.  We set our minds free from lockdown or prison by feeding it with the right information. Yes, feeding it. Your mind is very important which is why you must not just feed it but feed it with the right information. It is one thing to eat food, it is another thing to eat good food To be wrongly informed could make our mind deformed. What you see, read, hear goes into your mind which in turn form who you are. Everything you do or say is first conceived in the mind, even when it looks spontaneous to you , it ha

Lockdown Day 1: The Greatest Lockdown

The Greatest lockdown is not the physical one, the greatest lockdown is that of the mind. When the mind is in a lockdown, it is very mind as it void our lives of innovation, foresight and reasoning properly. The mind is so powerful. It is the centre of who we are. Physical lockdown might restrict our movement here and there no doubt the the lockdown of the mind is dangerous as it render us unproductive and ineffective. During this lockdown period, your movement might be restricted but your mind isn't. So put your mind into good use. Lockdown or isolation is similar to been imprisoned. But there is an advantage to this lockdown, it's an opportunity for us to look inward. Most of us have soaked up our lives in work, business, and career which is why this lockdown is difficult for us mentally. There are less distractions now for our minds to engage at a higher rate than usual. Tomorrow, I will be discussing on how to bbm set our mind free from lockdown. Do have a w
