Greener Pastures: Should I Travel Abroad?




This week, I was reawaken to the fact that everybody wants a good life where their dreams can come through and true; even if that means they need to travel out of the country, they would.

Most folks would want to live in Europe, America and other developed countries. Those places got good system and conducive environment to progress in.

While folks do have valid and genuine reasons to travel abroad, they must also know that the grass isn’t always greener at the other side. 

I discover that most people don’t even have a concrete plan, all they want to do is to just travel abroad.

While there is nothing bad in traveling abroad, but at least have a plan on what to do. Don’t just travel and believe once you get there, you will fit in.

And who says you can’t make it in your land. Nigeria is not beyond redemption. Things will get better in Nigeria but it need my effort and yours. That won’t happen if you just leave.

I asked if those folks in developed countries had run away when their countries were not developed and had challenges, would we have a country to run to?

Help doesn’t come from abroad but from above. God told Abraham to leave and go abroad, God told Issac to stay put. 
My Point: Be divinely guided.

It would be nice and advantageous for you to be divinely guided in your search for greener pastures. What is greener pasture to Mr A might not be to Mr B.

I do not condemn those who plan to travel abroad neither do I condemn those who want to stay. All I am saying is look before you leap, do your due diligence. Sometimes the thing we are looking for in Sokoto (a state in northern Nigeria) is right here in our shokoto (pocket).

Be guided and find out if you won’t have fared well here in your land than in a foreign land.

Lastly, traveling out of the country for your betterment is not a bad option but you have got to count the cost and weigh your options. So many have travelled and regretted they do so, also many folks have travelled as well and their lives got better because of it. Weigh your options and see which one you fit in well.


The grass isn’t always greener on the other side, the grass is always greener on God’s side.

Made a Way: The Story Behind The Song

Made a way is a song written and sang by award winning artist Travis Greene in the year 2015. Many people knows the song but few actually know the story behind the song. The song was actually borne out of a personal testimony of Travis Greene. According to the artist, 'Made a Way' was written during an impossible situation. He sends  rain  on the just and on the unjust. - Matthew 5:44 It's raining as I type this post and I remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:45 where he talks about  God sending the rain on both the just and unjust.
