Marital Talk: For Better or For Worse

For Better or For Worse?

A friend of mine asked me to write about the current marital crisis shocking the world. I have always try to avoid the subject of marriage in my writings and discussions. Not really because I don’t know what to write/say or how to write/say.

I still don’t want to write on it but I will reluctantly write a few words;

Marriage is an institution ordained by God. He created Adam the first man and said it’s not good for him (Adam) to be alone, so He made for Adam a woman (Eve) which Adam called his Helpmeet. That was go the journey of marriage started. Eve was created for Adam as a companionship. Thus the first reason for marriage is Companionship.

It’s a pity that today, most folks marry simply because of procreation. Procreation is never the first reason for marriage. Eve was created as a helpmeet for Adam that was alone. Every man needs a companionship, every man!

If your spouse is not your friend, gist partner or companion, then something is wrong. If you are in a marriage simply because of the children you gave birth to, something is wrong. If you are in a marriage and it’s like master and slave relationship, something is wrong.

The day you are no longer a companion to your spouse, you have lose the taste of marriage. Marriage is sweet-less and tasteless without companionship.

Many marriage crisis are as a result of spouses not been in togetherness which is companionship. God never discussed children, finances, materialism or whatsoever with Adam. He was concerned that Adam was alone not that he didn’t have offspring. When spouses are in companionship, all other things followed in that flow of companionship.

For the singles, marry someone who is your companion, marry someone you can always relate too. When the storms comes in marriage, what keeps you together is that companionship. What determine if your marriage will be for the better or for the worst is the level of companionship with your spouse.

For the married, Make your spouse, not an outsider, your companion. Your spouse is your best friend.

I pray that everyone having marital troubles will experience the move of God and there will be solutions and peace in their marital aspect of life.

I promise to write more as the Spirit gives me utterances in marriage but I will still largely stay away from it for now on my own.

It’s a great Saturday morning, do have a pleasant day...

Music: I Want to Live (Download)

I have another favourite song from the stable of Dunamis Ministry led by Pastor Paul Eneche.  The song is titled I want to live where you are. The song blesses me so much and I am sure you will be blessed by it. Below is the song lyrics and also a link where you can download the song. Verse 1 I want to  to live lord in the world of your Glory I want to live lord in the place where you are To stay away from the pressures & cares of this life. To stay away Lord from the ways of the world. (2*) Chorus I want to live oh Lord just right where you are. I want to stay oh Lord in your resting place Lead me away from things that keep me from you Separate me from the things Lord that hinders me. (3*) Verse 2 Oh Lord my heart is longing for your precious presence To receive Lord the light of your countenance So I can escape the darkness that covers the Earth So I can escape Lord the path of error (2*) Chorus I want to live oh Lord just right where you are. I want to sta

Made a Way: The Story Behind The Song

Made a way is a song written and sang by award winning artist Travis Greene in the year 2015. Many people knows the song but few actually know the story behind the song. The song was actually borne out of a personal testimony of Travis Greene. According to the artist, 'Made a Way' was written during an impossible situation. His pregnant wife’s water broke at 21 weeks, when pregnancy normally takes between 37-42 weeks. The doctors said the possibility of the baby’s survival is slim to none, and it was during this period when his wife was on bed rest for two months that he wrote the song. There was nothing else for them to hold on to but faith, and the good news is that as slim as the chance was, it didn’t break because faith held it together and today their baby boy is alive.  When Jesus was on His way to heal Jairus’s daughter and news came that things had gone from bad to worse, that the girl was dead. Jesus overheard and said, "Don't be upset. Just trust me

Lessons From the Sons of Sceva

....the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? - Acts 19:15 One funny incident that I read in the  Bible is about the seven sons of Sceva that attempted to use the Name of Jesus to cast out demons. The demons replied them that He knows Jesus and Paul, but who are they? They were given the beating of their life. (Acts 19:11-16) Were they wrong in using the Name of Jesus? No. But truth is they don't know nor understand that Name. They only want to use it selfishly just to get the results that Paul was getting. They thought it was a rocket science. Many at times we believers are like that; We live in sin , we disobey God and when we need something, we want to perform miracles, do signs and wonders in the Name of Jesus which we really belittle or don't value.  Someone once said during a plane turbulence, he saw unbelievers even shouting the name of Jesus. No wonder some folks suffered embarrassment like the sons of Sceva.  When
