Obedience: Simple But Complex

...Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice...  - 1 Samuel 15:22

Obedience: Simple but Complex

Have you ever wondered why it is so difficult for folks to obey simple instruction. God told Adam, do not eat from this tree. It was a simple thing to do (maybe) but he ended up eating it with his wife.

Don’t do this, don’t do that but yet you will still do it. So why do we have a difficulty obeying the simple instruction. If there is anything to learn from the fall of Adam, it was his stupidity in disobeying a simple instruction. He lost virtually everything when he disobey.

Life will be easier if everyone could be obedient but I guess we can’t. Disobedience in humans is by default. It takes the mind of Christ in a believer for him/her to live a obedient life pleasing unto God.

Why obedience seem to be difficult for us is because we are bent on doing it our way. When you don’t see the reason for obedience, it become very easy to disobey.

Disobedience is also difficult because the devil will block your sight from seeing the long term benefits of obeying especially when doing it is tough for you.

Obeying God is ever advantageous and beneficial to you.

Everything God ask you to do is always for your own benefits. The benefits In obeying Him goes to you, the consequences of disobeying Him also goes to you.

Abraham had a loving relationship with God in that He obeyed Him even in the midst of not seeing anything.

Samuel told Saul when God took his kingdom away that ‘to obey is better than sacrifice than to harken the fat of ram.’

Many problems in this life would have been averted if people will obey.

An instruction may be simple, but obeying the instruction could be difficult. When you begin to realize the good in obeying what God says, obedience becomes part of you.

The grace to obey is available for you trough Jesus Christ.

It’s a beautiful morning, a great weekend it gonna be.. Do enjoy the weekend with all its blessings...

Music: I Want to Live (Download)

I have another favourite song from the stable of Dunamis Ministry led by Pastor Paul Eneche.  The song is titled I want to live where you are. The song blesses me so much and I am sure you will be blessed by it. Below is the song lyrics and also a link where you can download the song. Verse 1 I want to  to live lord in the world of your Glory I want to live lord in the place where you are To stay away from the pressures & cares of this life. To stay away Lord from the ways of the world. (2*) Chorus I want to live oh Lord just right where you are. I want to stay oh Lord in your resting place Lead me away from things that keep me from you Separate me from the things Lord that hinders me. (3*) Verse 2 Oh Lord my heart is longing for your precious presence To receive Lord the light of your countenance So I can escape the darkness that covers the Earth So I can escape Lord the path of error (2*) Chorus I want to live oh Lord just right where you are. I want to sta

Made a Way: The Story Behind The Song

Made a way is a song written and sang by award winning artist Travis Greene in the year 2015. Many people knows the song but few actually know the story behind the song. The song was actually borne out of a personal testimony of Travis Greene. According to the artist, 'Made a Way' was written during an impossible situation. His pregnant wife’s water broke at 21 weeks, when pregnancy normally takes between 37-42 weeks. The doctors said the possibility of the baby’s survival is slim to none, and it was during this period when his wife was on bed rest for two months that he wrote the song. There was nothing else for them to hold on to but faith, and the good news is that as slim as the chance was, it didn’t break because faith held it together and today their baby boy is alive.  When Jesus was on His way to heal Jairus’s daughter and news came that things had gone from bad to worse, that the girl was dead. Jesus overheard and said, "Don't be upset. Just trust me

Lessons From the Sons of Sceva

....the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? - Acts 19:15 One funny incident that I read in the  Bible is about the seven sons of Sceva that attempted to use the Name of Jesus to cast out demons. The demons replied them that He knows Jesus and Paul, but who are they? They were given the beating of their life. (Acts 19:11-16) Were they wrong in using the Name of Jesus? No. But truth is they don't know nor understand that Name. They only want to use it selfishly just to get the results that Paul was getting. They thought it was a rocket science. Many at times we believers are like that; We live in sin , we disobey God and when we need something, we want to perform miracles, do signs and wonders in the Name of Jesus which we really belittle or don't value.  Someone once said during a plane turbulence, he saw unbelievers even shouting the name of Jesus. No wonder some folks suffered embarrassment like the sons of Sceva.  When
