Jesus is Our Comforter

And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?  - John 11:37 Lazarus, a friend of Jesus died and it baffles the people around him because they believe since Jesus does so many miracles, can't he have stopped Lazarus from dying. So many believers faces the same situation. People mock you for going to church or serving God with all your earth yet you have a reproach in one way or the other. They laugh at you for serving God so diligently yet you are not that rich. Atheists are quick to laugh at believers when they lost a loved ones, they ask you if your God is good, why will he allow that accident to happen or cause that baby to die or this or that? This is the devil at work. The devil will always try to destroy the reputation of our Lord Jesus before the world which he has consistently fail at. We may not always understand everything that occurs in this world or know why they occur...

Why Do We Give Tithe and Offering?

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house... - Malachi 3:10 Why do we give tithes, offering, sacrificial giving, first fruits, all forms of giving? Some folks would argue pastors are already rich, so why make them richer. The common reason giving we hear these days is that we give so that God will bless us back a hundredfold. After all the scriptures say give and it will come back to you. (Wrong interpretation) Most times, when it's time to give in our church programs, most preachers are quick to read out the curses in Malachi 3:8 to us either to frighten us or compel us to give. But God doesn't compel us or frighten us to give. So then why do we give offerings in our local assembly? The primary purpose of giving tithes and offering is to ensure that there is abundance in the house of God (which in this post is our local assembly). God wants us to give so that there will be meat in the storehouse. The storehouse God refer...

Evolution And Creation

In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth - Genesis 1:1 Religion and Science has always been at conflict with each other, one of the areas of conflicts is Evolution and Creation. According to Charles Darwin, Evolution is  the process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of the earth.  Even though Evolution remains unproven, the scientist will also ask a Christian to prove its own creation theory.  I remember my Biology teacher teaching us in class about Evolution. He was so keen about the subject. But as a Christian, I have no doubt about who created the world. In the beginning, God created the heaven and earth. So how did I know it is God that created the earth? The Bible tells me so. How do I prove the Bible to be true in everything it says? science works only with evidence, something they can see feel measure determine and analyze.   ...

The Perfect Creator

In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth - Genesis 1:1 Below are my views on Genesis chapter one verse one and two (Genesis 1:1): In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. The next verse goes thus 'and the earth  WAS  without form and void', some versions substitute the word 'was' for 'became'.  I do ask people this, can you create something that is formless, shapeless, and void? Most will answer no. Now if we mortal men could think that way, how much more God, everything God create is always good, perfect and beautiful. No exception. When Satan was created as Lucifer, He was so bright and Beautiful. So the question we do ask is how the earth become without form and void? We might not really have all the answer to that question but we can all agree that so many things could have taken place after God has created the earth that could have lead to the shapeless and formless of the earth. I do believe to an extent that...

Self-Confidence or God-Confidence

... we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.  - Romans 8:37 Jesus told Peter that he will denied Him thrice, Peter a loyal devotee of Jesus vehemently declared that he won't leave Him (Jesus) at any time. But we all know what eventually happened, He denied Jesus thrice, exactly as Jesus has foretold Him. (Matthew 26:33-35,  72-75) Many of us could relate to this: so many times, we have made vow to God, promise Him this and that, yet we ended up disappointing Him. Many of us not really because we want to. Like Peter, we love Jesus and we want to do everything to please Him. The problem is we try to do all that with our strength. We have this self confidence like Peter that we won't let God down.  Jesus told Peter He has prayed for him so that he will stand at the end. ( Luke 22:31-34)  We can't please God in our flesh. It will always be a struggle. So many folks have this bad addiction that they want to stop but they have been trying it on ...

Victims of Natural Disaster: Comfort for the comfortless

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2  Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3  Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.     - Psalm 46:1-3 This past few weeks has been tough for some parts of the world. From mudslide in Serria Leone, to flooding in Texas, flooding in parts of Asia, Benue, Nigeria and parts of Niger.  Luckily for most of us, we are safe where we are but some are not. And that is the purpose of the body of Christ. We are to be there for one another. Pray for those who are hurt and needs comfort. Donate your resources to victims of these natural disaster. Of course governments should take note and improve in their response to natural disasters. Some of the impact of these disasters could have been averted if somethings were put in place like  a solid building reg...

Wear It Out...

Come to me, all of you who are weary and loaded down with burdens, and I will give you rest. - Matthew 11:27 Happy New Month to you. It's the Ninth Month of the year 2017. I don't how the year has been for you. But we can all agree on one thing, no matter how it has been, you are still very much alive and you can still achieve much in this last quarter of the year.  You might not be able to always determine what happens to you, but surely you can decide not to allow it to reduce you. Life is like a boxing ring. Every winner in the boxing ring will tell you there are some punches they couldn't dodge. But they are determined not to give up but hold on and save their energy till they can muster a rebound to defeat the opponent. Sometimes, we all have dreams that seems it's not coming true. You are in your time of adversity, don't let your strength fail you. Some of us are tired already and the year is not yet over. Sure some of us have been blessed beyond ...
