Lessons from The Sons of Sceva - Part 6

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. - Luke 10:19

This week has been dedicated to studying the story of the seven sons of Sceva. I would like to conclude the series on this note:

Every believers has been given the power to cast out demons in the name of Jesus. It is for every believer and not just any body. So who is a believers. A believer in this context of our series is Christian. He/she is someone who has received Jesus as his/her Lord and personal saviour. He/she believes in Jesus. The Sons of Sceva ain't Christians, they don't know Jesus personally neither does Jesus knows them.

Power and authority has been given to the believers. A believer has the power to subdue and cast out demons.

So I ask you, do you know Jesus, does Jesus knows you? It is one thing to heard of Jesus, it's another thing to personally know Him. You might be a Christian by religion and yet Jesus knows you not. It doesn't matter how years you have been going to church. If you don't Jesus and doesn't received Him into your earth, He definitely wouldn't know you. Maybe you know Jesus but you don't have Him in your heart.

This is a great opportunity for you, a privilege for you. If you want to know and received Jesus into your life, Now is the time.

Only Jesus has the power to save you from the demons terrorizing you giving you bad dreams, causing you misfortune and many bad things.
Be free and be free indeed.

Say the following words
"Lord Jesus, come into my heart. Forgive me of all my sins and make me pure, holy and whole again. I receive you into my heart. Thank you for saving me."

If you say this prayer, I congratulate you. Welcome to the family of God, You are blessed!

Good Morning and do have a wonderful day?

Verse 1 I want to  to live lord in the world of your Glory I want to live lord in the place where you are To stay away from the pressures & cares of this life. To stay away Lord from the ways of the world. (2*) Chorus I want to live oh Lord just right where you are. I want to stay oh Lord in your resting place Lead me away from things that keep me from you Separate me from the things Lord that hinders me. (3*) Verse 2 Oh Lord my heart is longing for your precious presence To receive Lord the light of your countenance So I can escape the darkness that covers the Earth So I can escape Lord the path of error (2*) Chorus I want to live oh Lord just right where you are. I want to sta

Made a Way: The Story Behind The Song

Made a way is a song written and sang by award winning artist Travis Greene in the year 2015. Many people knows the song but few actually know the story behind the song. The song was actually borne out of a personal testimony of Travis Greene. According to the artist, 'Made a Way' was written during an impossible situation. His pregnant wife’s water broke at 21 weeks, when pregnancy normally takes between 37-42 weeks. The doctors said the possibility of the baby’s survival is slim to none, and it was during this period when his wife was on bed rest for two months that he wrote the song. There was nothing else for them to hold on to but faith, and the good news is that as slim as the chance was, it didn’t break because faith held it together and today their baby boy is alive.  When Jesus was on His way to heal Jairus’s daughter and news came that things had gone from bad to worse, that the girl was dead. Jesus overheard and said, "Don't be upset. Just trust me

Lessons From the Sons of Sceva

....the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? - Acts 19:15 One funny incident that I read in the  Bible is about the seven sons of Sceva that attempted to use the Name of Jesus to cast out demons. The demons replied them that He knows Jesus and Paul, but who are they? They were given the beating of their life. (Acts 19:11-16) Were they wrong in using the Name of Jesus? No. But truth is they don't know nor understand that Name. They only want to use it selfishly just to get the results that Paul was getting. They thought it was a rocket science. Many at times we believers are like that; We live in sin , we disobey God and when we need something, we want to perform miracles, do signs and wonders in the Name of Jesus which we really belittle or don't value.  Someone once said during a plane turbulence, he saw unbelievers even shouting the name of Jesus. No wonder some folks suffered embarrassment like the sons of Sceva.  When
