Rescue A Street Child....

Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. - Luke 9:48

On Sunday, I watched a video about a boy  popularly know as  'Shanawole' that was rescued from the street in the slum area in Lagos, Nigeria during a rehabilitation mission by Pastor Tony Rapu. That act really touched me.

Shanawole is a product of our broken system. What touched me  is the steps taken by Pastor Tony to take this boy off the street.

Truth is that what God has called us to do. Most time, we are contended with our lives, we do not remember those kids on the street, those orphans. We are so selfish these days that we only care for ourselves and ourselves alone.

You might not be able to rescue a child from the street all by yourself but you can donate to those NGOs doing that, you can decide to buy food for those kid-beggars or homeless kids around you.

For those who came from a wonderful family unit, you don't really know what you have. Out there in the slums, there so many kids who have joined bad gangs, doing bad things and that is how their future will continue to be until you and I act to reduce them.

Jesus has called us to be a light to these kids, it's not just about preaching to them but acting the preaching to them. If everyone of us can at least do a bit to help these kids on the streets, it will go a long way.

Kudos to every organizations that is working towards taking these kids off the streets. That is what Jesus would have wanted them to do.

Next time you see a street kids, ask yourself what can I do to salvage the situation. The growing number of street kids in an given society is a time-bomb for the society if adequate steps aren't taken to take these kids off the street.

Show love, show care, show compassion. Most of these kids didn't just got on the streets all by their selves. The devil is busy raising this kids, so we have got to act.

Children are very important to God and they should also be important to you.

Shanawole has been taken of the street but there are still many more like him out there that needs to be rescued as well.

Good Morning and do enjoy your day!

Music: I Want to Live (Download)

I have another favourite song from the stable of Dunamis Ministry led by Pastor Paul Eneche.  The song is titled I want to live where you are. The song blesses me so much and I am sure you will be blessed by it. Below is the song lyrics and also a link where you can download the song. Verse 1 I want to  to live lord in the world of your Glory I want to live lord in the place where you are To stay away from the pressures & cares of this life. To stay away Lord from the ways of the world. (2*) Chorus I want to live oh Lord just right where you are. I want to stay oh Lord in your resting place Lead me away from things that keep me from you Separate me from the things Lord that hinders me. (3*) Verse 2 Oh Lord my heart is longing for your precious presence To receive Lord the light of your countenance So I can escape the darkness that covers the Earth So I can escape Lord the path of error (2*) Chorus I want to live oh Lord just right where you are. I want to sta

Made a Way: The Story Behind The Song

Made a way is a song written and sang by award winning artist Travis Greene in the year 2015. Many people knows the song but few actually know the story behind the song. The song was actually borne out of a personal testimony of Travis Greene. According to the artist, 'Made a Way' was written during an impossible situation. His pregnant wife’s water broke at 21 weeks, when pregnancy normally takes between 37-42 weeks. The doctors said the possibility of the baby’s survival is slim to none, and it was during this period when his wife was on bed rest for two months that he wrote the song. There was nothing else for them to hold on to but faith, and the good news is that as slim as the chance was, it didn’t break because faith held it together and today their baby boy is alive.  When Jesus was on His way to heal Jairus’s daughter and news came that things had gone from bad to worse, that the girl was dead. Jesus overheard and said, "Don't be upset. Just trust me

Lessons From the Sons of Sceva

....the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? - Acts 19:15 One funny incident that I read in the  Bible is about the seven sons of Sceva that attempted to use the Name of Jesus to cast out demons. The demons replied them that He knows Jesus and Paul, but who are they? They were given the beating of their life. (Acts 19:11-16) Were they wrong in using the Name of Jesus? No. But truth is they don't know nor understand that Name. They only want to use it selfishly just to get the results that Paul was getting. They thought it was a rocket science. Many at times we believers are like that; We live in sin , we disobey God and when we need something, we want to perform miracles, do signs and wonders in the Name of Jesus which we really belittle or don't value.  Someone once said during a plane turbulence, he saw unbelievers even shouting the name of Jesus. No wonder some folks suffered embarrassment like the sons of Sceva.  When
