Wherefore let him that think he stand take heed lest he fall. - 1 Corinthians 10:12
In Luke 22:31-34, Jesus told Peter tat the devil desire to have him but He has prayed for Him. Peter instead started to argue with Jesus that anywhere He goes, he will follow, even into the prison. Peter believes he is firm enough to stay with Jesus. Jesus replied him that he will denied Him thrice. And that was what happened.
Believers these days tend to think certain things can not happen to them because they have come too far in the Lord. Apostle Paul knew some of the Corinthians are like that which is why he advised them.
No matter how righteous you might think you are, you need to be spiritually alert always. Many great men and women of God have fallen. Don't form spiritual pretence. Don't think you can't fall into temptation. Don't think you can't fall. David despite his relationship with God still fall into sexual sin with Bethsheba.
The devil never relent in attacking believers all the time. At the time you think you are standing firm rooted in God, that is when the devil will come with his challenges to test your faith.
Humility should be our lifestyle. Peter has good intention no doubt but he wasn't alert enough. We are not yet perfect to be immune to temptation. As long as we are on this earth, we need to be careful and be watchful.
It's a beautiful Sunday, Good Morning and a Happy Sunday to you.
