Developing Spiritual Muscles 💪 - Part 1

be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. - Ephesians 6:10

Many years back as a kid, there is this funny thing we do, we raise our hands to show our tiny muscles to our friends. I just simply showed the other fellow and tell him 'Show Me Your Muscle'.

We exercise to improve our heart health and we lift weights to build and tone our muscles. But what about our spiritual walk? What do we do to stay hopeful, encouraged, and faithful when it seems as if God isn't listening or answering our prayers? We may feel despair, dejected, and plain old depressed. But it doesn't have to be this way. God assures us that He will never leave or forsake us, so then why do we feel forgotten? Why do we feel so alone? Because, in times like this, the gym may be a great place to exercise to help you get your body in shape, and a run along the lakefront may be a great place to get out and clear your mind. But for the believer who affirms there is a God, and yet in the same breath feels lonely, lost, and left behind--running and lifting won't do it. For these occasions, you need to exercise your faith by building spiritual muscles. It is the only workout that will get you through the sometimes dark and lonely hours.

So how do we build up our spiritual muscles? How do develop muscles to wrestle our way through the dark times?
Here are ways to build spiritual muscles:
1. Prayer
...Pray without ceasing -  1 Thessalonians 5:18
If you can't pray, you can't have a spiritual muscle. Prayer is a way of building up ourselves. The Bible admonish us to pray without ceasing. You don't just Pray when there is trouble. We are to live a praying life. Someone may ask 'why pray since Jesus has won the victory'? We don't pray to be victorious. We pray because we are victorious. The manifestation of our victory in Christ is through prayer. You want to develop your spiritual muscles, you have got to pray.
Tomorrow we continue on other ways to develop our spiritual muscles.
Good Morning and do have a great week...

Music: I Want to Live (Download)

I have another favourite song from the stable of Dunamis Ministry led by Pastor Paul Eneche.  The song is titled I want to live where you are. The song blesses me so much and I am sure you will be blessed by it. Below is the song lyrics and also a link where you can download the song. Verse 1 I want to  to live lord in the world of your Glory I want to live lord in the place where you are To stay away from the pressures & cares of this life. To stay away Lord from the ways of the world. (2*) Chorus I want to live oh Lord just right where you are. I want to stay oh Lord in your resting place Lead me away from things that keep me from you Separate me from the things Lord that hinders me. (3*) Verse 2 Oh Lord my heart is longing for your precious presence To receive Lord the light of your countenance So I can escape the darkness that covers the Earth So I can escape Lord the path of error (2*) Chorus I want to live oh Lord just right where you are. I want to sta

Made a Way: The Story Behind The Song

Made a way is a song written and sang by award winning artist Travis Greene in the year 2015. Many people knows the song but few actually know the story behind the song. The song was actually borne out of a personal testimony of Travis Greene. According to the artist, 'Made a Way' was written during an impossible situation. His pregnant wife’s water broke at 21 weeks, when pregnancy normally takes between 37-42 weeks. The doctors said the possibility of the baby’s survival is slim to none, and it was during this period when his wife was on bed rest for two months that he wrote the song. There was nothing else for them to hold on to but faith, and the good news is that as slim as the chance was, it didn’t break because faith held it together and today their baby boy is alive.  When Jesus was on His way to heal Jairus’s daughter and news came that things had gone from bad to worse, that the girl was dead. Jesus overheard and said, "Don't be upset. Just trust me

Lessons From the Sons of Sceva

....the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? - Acts 19:15 One funny incident that I read in the  Bible is about the seven sons of Sceva that attempted to use the Name of Jesus to cast out demons. The demons replied them that He knows Jesus and Paul, but who are they? They were given the beating of their life. (Acts 19:11-16) Were they wrong in using the Name of Jesus? No. But truth is they don't know nor understand that Name. They only want to use it selfishly just to get the results that Paul was getting. They thought it was a rocket science. Many at times we believers are like that; We live in sin , we disobey God and when we need something, we want to perform miracles, do signs and wonders in the Name of Jesus which we really belittle or don't value.  Someone once said during a plane turbulence, he saw unbelievers even shouting the name of Jesus. No wonder some folks suffered embarrassment like the sons of Sceva.  When
