Instructions From God

And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:
3 Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father; - Genesis 26:2-3

God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. This was true in the case of Issac in Genesis 26:1-12. There was famine in the land, things were so bad and Issac decide to travel out to a land with better fortunes. But God instructed him not to go but stay. God told him, he will bless him.

It look difficult when someone ask you to stay in a place where there is famine, opportunities are so limited, you might have someone that could readily help you move out. Issac wanted to move out, yet God told him to stay. Remember the story of Naomi, her husband moved himself and family outside the country because of famine without consulting God. I do read and hear news of young Africans trying to cross over from Africa to Europe in a risky and extremely dangerous route. A lot of people died trying to cross that sea. Things might have been bad for this young ones at home but clearly they didn't ask of God what their next step should be.

When God says He will bless you, no matter how bad the economy might be, He can and He will bless you. Blessings doesn't come from abroad but from above. God is not limited by the situation of things on earth. Things might look tough and threatening but when God ask you to stay put, stay put.

One of the ways to be a receipt to of God's blessings is to fully obey His instructions. He knows everything, past present future.

Isaac was successful because he followed God's instruction, in the land of famine, he prospered and was stronger.

Because things are bad today doesn't mean it won't be good tomorrow.

I pray that your journey in life won't take you outside the purpose of God for your life.
