Christianity: What Makes It Different From Other Religions?

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. - John 14:16

What makes a Christian different from other people of different religion?

Many times People are been told to come to Jesus and accept Him and become a Christian (I.e Christ Like).

But to everyone out there who is wondering what is the different between a Christian and other Religions... some do wonder and ask if we ain't serving the same God. Muslim, Buddhist, Ifa, Hindu etc....

Some even ask what happen to those that doesn't believe in God (the atheists).

While many of the world’s religions have similar features, biblical Christianity differs radically from them all. There are a handful of things which put it in a category of its own. Without understanding these differences, we cannot properly comprehend Christianity.

The First Difference:
Christianity is more than a religion, it is a way of life. Christianity is not really a religion that was started. Rather, it is the God and Creator of the universe continuing his self-crafted plan of providing the way for fallen humanity to be reconciled into permanently right relationship with him. Christianity simply observes the progressive outworking of God’s merciful, saving plan to his human creatures in the Person of Jesus Christ. As Christ stepped on the scene over 2000 years ago, it was not so much the beginning of a new religion as it was the fulfillment of God’s redemptive plans. Those plans did not happen to start with a Jewish rabbi and his obscure followers. Christianity is not the product of a dynamic social-revolutionary in the land of Israel. Rather, it is the product of God’s sovereign orchestration of time and history for the redemption of an unworthy people through the God-man, Jesus Christ. When God incarnate arrives, he is methodically continuing what he founded: the plan of redemption. And it’s a plan which started a long, long time ago; to be precise, prior to the existence of any human being.

A Christian isn't a Christian because he/she is born into a Christian family...

Music: I Want to Live (Download)

I have another favourite song from the stable of Dunamis Ministry led by Pastor Paul Eneche.  The song is titled I want to live where you are. The song blesses me so much and I am sure you will be blessed by it. Below is the song lyrics and also a link where you can download the song. Verse 1 I want to  to live lord in the world of your Glory I want to live lord in the place where you are To stay away from the pressures & cares of this life. To stay away Lord from the ways of the world. (2*) Chorus I want to live oh Lord just right where you are. I want to stay oh Lord in your resting place Lead me away from things that keep me from you Separate me from the things Lord that hinders me. (3*) Verse 2 Oh Lord my heart is longing for your precious presence To receive Lord the light of your countenance So I can escape the darkness that covers the Earth So I can escape Lord the path of error (2*) Chorus I want to live oh Lord just right where you are. I want to sta

Made a Way: The Story Behind The Song

Made a way is a song written and sang by award winning artist Travis Greene in the year 2015. Many people knows the song but few actually know the story behind the song. The song was actually borne out of a personal testimony of Travis Greene. According to the artist, 'Made a Way' was written during an impossible situation. His pregnant wife’s water broke at 21 weeks, when pregnancy normally takes between 37-42 weeks. The doctors said the possibility of the baby’s survival is slim to none, and it was during this period when his wife was on bed rest for two months that he wrote the song. There was nothing else for them to hold on to but faith, and the good news is that as slim as the chance was, it didn’t break because faith held it together and today their baby boy is alive.  When Jesus was on His way to heal Jairus’s daughter and news came that things had gone from bad to worse, that the girl was dead. Jesus overheard and said, "Don't be upset. Just trust me

Lessons From the Sons of Sceva

....the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? - Acts 19:15 One funny incident that I read in the  Bible is about the seven sons of Sceva that attempted to use the Name of Jesus to cast out demons. The demons replied them that He knows Jesus and Paul, but who are they? They were given the beating of their life. (Acts 19:11-16) Were they wrong in using the Name of Jesus? No. But truth is they don't know nor understand that Name. They only want to use it selfishly just to get the results that Paul was getting. They thought it was a rocket science. Many at times we believers are like that; We live in sin , we disobey God and when we need something, we want to perform miracles, do signs and wonders in the Name of Jesus which we really belittle or don't value.  Someone once said during a plane turbulence, he saw unbelievers even shouting the name of Jesus. No wonder some folks suffered embarrassment like the sons of Sceva.  When
