Happy Independence Day

Then I said to them, "You see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned with fire, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace."
  - Nehemiah 2:17

Today is a great day for my country Nigeria, it's our Independence Day. Recently Nigeria's unity has been at stake. Agitations everywhere, threats of secession everywhere. Citizens no longer trust their government.

Corruption is still at a high rate and it keeps evolving. Sometimes one can't but wonder what really is God's plan for Nigeria. Not just Nigeria, so many countries of the world are facing uncertainty. The distrust between the government and the citizens keeps expanding.

Nehemiah also had the same issue and he want the will of God to prevail over his nation (Jerusalem) which was in ruins. But he didn't just observe and complain, he took a step to do something about it. (Nehemiah 1)

We could go on complaining about our country, the leaders and many more, but what are you doing about it? Complaints won't change a thing, doing something about it will.

We do think our own efforts towards the building (or rebuilding) of our country is too small. It might be small but it is something. When last did you pray for your leaders? when last did you pay your tax and dues?

We blame our leaders for so many things meanwhile, we the followers are no different. Our leaders are chosen from us the followers, so they are an image of who we are as followers.

We still seek to bribe our way through everything, we seek shortcut to virtually everything. The competition to outshine our very next neighbour is rife.

If our country is to be great again, you and I have got to contribute to it.
It won't change overnight, but it will eventually change if we keep contributing righty to it.

Nigeria's Unity is at stake, we splitting into different regions wouldn't exactly solve all our problems. Like Nehemiah, the will of God will prevail over our country but it will be through you and I. Nehemiah took steps to rebuild Jerusalem. Will you take that step to rebuild Nigeria?

So let pledge to Nigeria our county to be faithful, loyal and true, to serve Nigeria with all our strength, to defend our unity, uphold her honour and glory. So help us God.

God Bless Nigeria; Happy Independence Nigeria;

Good Morning and a happy Sunday to You.

Music: I Want to Live (Download)

I have another favourite song from the stable of Dunamis Ministry led by Pastor Paul Eneche.  The song is titled I want to live where you are. The song blesses me so much and I am sure you will be blessed by it. Below is the song lyrics and also a link where you can download the song. Verse 1 I want to  to live lord in the world of your Glory I want to live lord in the place where you are To stay away from the pressures & cares of this life. To stay away Lord from the ways of the world. (2*) Chorus I want to live oh Lord just right where you are. I want to stay oh Lord in your resting place Lead me away from things that keep me from you Separate me from the things Lord that hinders me. (3*) Verse 2 Oh Lord my heart is longing for your precious presence To receive Lord the light of your countenance So I can escape the darkness that covers the Earth So I can escape Lord the path of error (2*) Chorus I want to live oh Lord just right where you are. I want to sta

Made a Way: The Story Behind The Song

Made a way is a song written and sang by award winning artist Travis Greene in the year 2015. Many people knows the song but few actually know the story behind the song. The song was actually borne out of a personal testimony of Travis Greene. According to the artist, 'Made a Way' was written during an impossible situation. His pregnant wife’s water broke at 21 weeks, when pregnancy normally takes between 37-42 weeks. The doctors said the possibility of the baby’s survival is slim to none, and it was during this period when his wife was on bed rest for two months that he wrote the song. There was nothing else for them to hold on to but faith, and the good news is that as slim as the chance was, it didn’t break because faith held it together and today their baby boy is alive.  When Jesus was on His way to heal Jairus’s daughter and news came that things had gone from bad to worse, that the girl was dead. Jesus overheard and said, "Don't be upset. Just trust me

Lessons From the Sons of Sceva

....the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? - Acts 19:15 One funny incident that I read in the  Bible is about the seven sons of Sceva that attempted to use the Name of Jesus to cast out demons. The demons replied them that He knows Jesus and Paul, but who are they? They were given the beating of their life. (Acts 19:11-16) Were they wrong in using the Name of Jesus? No. But truth is they don't know nor understand that Name. They only want to use it selfishly just to get the results that Paul was getting. They thought it was a rocket science. Many at times we believers are like that; We live in sin , we disobey God and when we need something, we want to perform miracles, do signs and wonders in the Name of Jesus which we really belittle or don't value.  Someone once said during a plane turbulence, he saw unbelievers even shouting the name of Jesus. No wonder some folks suffered embarrassment like the sons of Sceva.  When
