David therefore departed from there and escaped to the cave of Adullam. And when his brothers and all his father's house heard it, they went down there to him. And everyone who was in distress, everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered to him. So he became captain over them. And there were about four hundred men with him. - 1 Samuel 22:1-2
So what's so special about Adullam Cave that made David a Mighty Man?
Adullam was cave of recovery, strength, replenishment, rest and preparation for David. While at Adullam Cave, other depressed and hopeless people came to join David and from there the journey of their break-through begins. David found himself in The midst of people needing his leadership (He has already been anointed as a King).
David emerge a leader from Adullam. Each and every one of us have to find our Adullam Cave in times of distress. Adullam is our spiritual gas station where we fuel and re-fuel our life car the journey ahead. Adullam is the place of discovery and recovery. It's a place not just to hide but to find your gift and express it. Adullam is a place of help. There are many Caves we could run to but Adullam is the cave of freedom. The greatest Adullam Cave we could run to is Jesus. He said all weak and heavily laden people should come to Him and He will give them rest.
In Jesus, we find the best place to recover, to strengthen and to move on. When a man haven't find his Adullam Cave, he keeps wandering through life trying to figure it out but all to no avail.
There is another Adullam Cave which is the body of Christ (The Church). The Church is a place for all kinds of imperfect people who can be taught and guide into living their God-given life. The Church is a place of network. You find someone who can help you and someone who you can help. That is what the church is for.
Adullam Cave is a place of Support for you and I.
I pray we will emerge a Mighty person.
Good Morning and a beautiful weekend to you.
