Delayed Gratification

There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death. - Proverbs 14:12

Anytime we try to seek shortcut to riches, fame, etc, we are shooting ourselves in the foot. God is a God of process. Yes, he can jump protocol for us but He won't jump process for us.

Delayed gratification, or deferred gratification, is the ability to resist the temptation for an immediate reward and wait for a later reward. Generally, delayed gratification is associated with resisting a smaller but more immediate reward in order to receive a larger or more enduring reward later.

Gehazi try to smuggle his way through and he messed up. Joseph could have slept with Photiphar's wife and enjoyed but he would never have become the prime minister.

These days, folks doesn't want to delay Gratification. They want everything to be fast. Solomon warn that there is a road that looks good to you but the end thereof is destruction. Not all that glitters is gold.

Never be in a haste to rise to fame of to strike gold. Let God have His way in you. He clearly want the best for you and He wants you to key into His plans.

When we forgo God ordained way for another easy or short way, we would never reach fulfillment. So many people have have alternatives to God's plan for them simply because they want it fast. They can't delay Gratification.

You must be ready to let go of the present and short  enjoyment so that you can enjoy better and longer in the future.

There are times to enjoy and there are times to let go of the enjoyment. The devil will always tempt with enviable things that won't last long, he does that so that he can blocked you from enjoying the true blessings of God.

We must learn to say no to some things now because of the future.

Joseph eventually made it because He could delay Gratification. Jesus was able to make it to the cross because He didn't give in to the devil's gratification rewards.

In life, not every opportunity is a good one. Some gratification has to be delay in order to have a greater reward.

Thank God it's Friday, Good Morning and do have a blessed day.

To stay away Lord from the ways of the world. (2*) Chorus I want to live oh Lord just right where you are. I want to stay oh Lord in your resting place Lead me away from things that keep me from you Separate me from the things Lord that hinders me. (3*) Verse 2 Oh Lord my heart is longing for your precious presence To receive Lord the light of your countenance So I can escape the darkness that covers the Earth So I can escape Lord the path of error (2*) Chorus I want to live oh Lord just right where you are. Made a Way: The Story Behind The Song

Made a way is a song written and sang by award winning artist Travis Greene in the year 2015. Many people knows the song but few actually know the story behind the song. The song was actually borne out of a personal testimony of Travis Greene. According to the artist, 'Made a Way' was written during an impossible situation. His pregnant wife’s water broke at 21 weeks, when pregnancy normally takes between 37-42 weeks. The doctors said the possibility of the baby’s survival is slim to none, and it was during this period when his wife was on bed rest for two months that he wrote the song. There was nothing else for them to hold on to but faith, and the good news is that as slim as the chance was, it didn’t break because faith held it together and today their baby boy is alive.  When Jesus was on His way to heal Jairus’s daughter and news came that things had gone from bad to worse, that the girl was dead. Jesus overheard and said, "Don't be upset. Just trust me

Lessons From the Sons of Sceva

....the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? - Acts 19:15 One funny incident that I read in the  Bible is about the seven sons of Sceva that attempted to use the Name of Jesus to cast out demons. The demons replied them that He knows Jesus and Paul, but who are they? They were given the beating of their life. (Acts 19:11-16) Were they wrong in using the Name of Jesus? No. But truth is they don't know nor understand that Name. They only want to use it selfishly just to get the results that Paul was getting. They thought it was a rocket science. Many at times we believers are like that; We live in sin , we disobey God and when we need something, we want to perform miracles, do signs and wonders in the Name of Jesus which we really belittle or don't value.  Someone once said during a plane turbulence, he saw unbelievers even shouting the name of Jesus. No wonder some folks suffered embarrassment like the sons of Sceva.  When
