God or Self: A Discussion with an Atheist

...He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. - Matthew 5:45

Yesterday, I got into a discussion turned argument with an atheist friend of mine. The point of our discussion or argument was why would believers always turn to God to help them for virtually everything most especially in the area of breaking bad habits.

It was a meaningful discussion albeit a few argument. There is this fact everyone got to know: You can live your life successfully without not calling on God to help you directly. As log as you follow His universal principles, you will soar. There are so many successful unbelievers out there , that doesn't in anyway means that's God doesn't exist. Jesus said God cause the rain to fall on both the good and the bad folks.

That said, believers depend on God because He knows it all, we could decide to go through it alone which is possible or we can decide to go through God's Divine Grace which is available to us. A believer believes in the higher power of God to help break sinful and bad habits.

What difference does it makes?
What my atheist friend fail to realise is with God, you don't need to struggle to break bad habits, there is sufficient grace for every believers to depend upon.

Of course it will be stupid and foolish for a believer to do anything he /she likes simply because there is abundant grace.

While my atheist friend may depend on his own power or sicietific proven method to break bad habits (which is really possible and very okay), the best assistance a human can get is Divine Assistance from God.

Our argument obvious is the fact that he doesn't believe in soiritual matters like me.

I'm proud to be able to count on the sufficient grace of God not because I want to be lazy but be aude I want to do more.

Top of the morning to you and do have a good day.

Music: I Want to Live (Download)

I have another favourite song from the stable of Dunamis Ministry led by Pastor Paul Eneche.  The song is titled I want to live where you are. The song blesses me so much and I am sure you will be blessed by it. Below is the song lyrics and also a link where you can download the song. Verse 1 I want to  to live lord in the world of your Glory I want to live lord in the place where you are To stay away from the pressures & cares of this life. To stay away Lord from the ways of the world. (2*) Chorus I want to live oh Lord just right where you are. I want to stay oh Lord in your resting place Lead me away from things that keep me from you Separate me from the things Lord that hinders me. (3*) Verse 2 Oh Lord my heart is longing for your precious presence To receive Lord the light of your countenance So I can escape the darkness that covers the Earth So I can escape Lord the path of error (2*) Chorus I want to live oh Lord just right where you are. I want to sta

Made a Way: The Story Behind The Song

Made a way is a song written and sang by award winning artist Travis Greene in the year 2015. Many people knows the song but few actually know the story behind the song. The song was actually borne out of a personal testimony of Travis Greene. According to the artist, 'Made a Way' was written during an impossible situation. His pregnant wife’s water broke at 21 weeks, when pregnancy normally takes between 37-42 weeks. The doctors said the possibility of the baby’s survival is slim to none, and it was during this period when his wife was on bed rest for two months that he wrote the song. There was nothing else for them to hold on to but faith, and the good news is that as slim as the chance was, it didn’t break because faith held it together and today their baby boy is alive.  When Jesus was on His way to heal Jairus’s daughter and news came that things had gone from bad to worse, that the girl was dead. Jesus overheard and said, "Don't be upset. Just trust me

Lessons From the Sons of Sceva

....the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? - Acts 19:15 One funny incident that I read in the  Bible is about the seven sons of Sceva that attempted to use the Name of Jesus to cast out demons. The demons replied them that He knows Jesus and Paul, but who are they? They were given the beating of their life. (Acts 19:11-16) Were they wrong in using the Name of Jesus? No. But truth is they don't know nor understand that Name. They only want to use it selfishly just to get the results that Paul was getting. They thought it was a rocket science. Many at times we believers are like that; We live in sin , we disobey God and when we need something, we want to perform miracles, do signs and wonders in the Name of Jesus which we really belittle or don't value.  Someone once said during a plane turbulence, he saw unbelievers even shouting the name of Jesus. No wonder some folks suffered embarrassment like the sons of Sceva.  When
