Day 22
Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.
Proverbs 22:29 KJV
I have this belief: even if you don't know God, if you are industrious and very good at what you do, you will be a star.
Prayers is never a substitute for diligence. Seest thou a man diligent in his business?.... In the business of his calling, be it what it will, whether for himself or his master; constant in it, swift, ready, and expeditious at it; who industriously pursues it, cheerfully attends it, makes quick dispatch of it; does it off of hand, at once, and is not slothful in it, nor weary of it; when you have observed and taken notice of such a man, which is not very common, you may, without a spirit of prophecy, foresee that such a man will rise in the world;
No matter who you are, you must be skillful, excellent and expert at what you do.
What we do is important to God. He uses us as instruments to advance His Kingdom on earth and whether we fulfill these purposes in the church or in the secular environment is not important to God as long as we are doing what He has called us to do and as long as it give Him glory. This is why we must be diligent at what we do.
Observe people who are good at their work— skilled workers are always in demand and admired; they don’t take a backseat to anyone.
A diligent person will be the toast of men of influence, men of authority and power will seek such a person. That is why you see that presidents of nations always seek for the best among the best.
Main Point: A dilligent man commands the respects of Rulers.
