Forsake All and Follow Jesus

And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him. - Luke 5:11

I continue on the story of Peter, the guy who surrender his boat to Jesus and obey instructions of Jesus. After everything (the breakthrough, the abundance blessing), Peter and partners forsook all that they have and follow Jesus.

It was not "much" that they left - a couple of small boats and their nets; but it was all they had, even all their living. But this showed their love of Jesus, and their willingness to deny themselves, as "really" as if they had forsaken palaces and gold. All that Jesus asks is that we should leave "all" we have for him; that we should love him "more" than we do whatever friends or property we may possess, and be willing to give them all up when he requires it.

Some folks after becoming wealthy stops caring about the thing of God; For some, it is their job, some their marriage. A vibrant christian that is blessed will follow God the more.

When riches increase, and we are tempted to set our hearts upon them, then to quit them for Christ is thankworthy.

Are you ready to forsook all for the kingdom? Tommorow I will be posting on what it means to forsook all.

One of the greatest decisions you can make is to follow Jesus. You will never regret it.

Made a way is a song written and sang by award winning artist Travis Greene in the year 2015. Many people knows the song but few actually know the story behind the song. The song was actually borne out of a personal testimony of Travis Greene. According to the artist, 'Made a Way' was written during an impossible situation. ....the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? - Acts 19:15 One funny incident that I read in the Bible is about the seven sons of Sceva that attempted to use the Name of Jesus to cast out demons. The demons replied them that He knows Jesus and Paul, but who are they? They were given the beating of their life. (Acts 19:11-16) Were they wrong in using the Name of Jesus? No. But truth is they don't know nor understand that Name. They only want to use it selfishly just to get the results that Paul was getting. They thought it was a rocket science.
