Our Father, Who art in Heaven... - Luke11:2
There was a time, Jesus disciples asked Him to teach them how to pray. He(Jesus) started the prayer by calling God, our Father.
In a real sense, it's only a child of a man that will call the man Father. Jesus Called God, Father.
Most of us have seen God as very distant Being, an angry master, a big Judge and that is how we relate to Him when praying
Our Prayer pattern should be free, embarrassed, confident, and utterly frank whispers of a child to its father.
That name FATHER, when thoroughly realized, banishes fear and self-will, and inspires submission and aspiration. To cry,’ Abba, Father,’ is the essence of all prayer. Nothing more is needed.
God is a Father to us. When we pray to Him,let pray like a child pouring out his mind to his Father. Jesus present God to His disciples so that they can understand that God is their Father desire a relationship with them.
The way you relate to an earthly father is the way you should relate to God. He is not just a Mighty Being that has little or no regards for you. He is a loving Father that cares for His children.
