Prospering in Difficult Times

The world is in a difficult situation, covid-19 pandemic is on rampage all over the world, oil prices are at the lowest point in history, Crisis in the middle east, terrorism /insecurity in Africa, finacial crisis in Europe, mass shooting in the United States, Bush fires in Austria and one could continue counting.

This is not to scare you but to let you know: the world had always be in crisis since the downfall of mankind. And it's not going to get any better. Many people are going to get killed, evil attacks and disaster will be on the rise. That has always been how the world has been moving.

But that's not all, There is an Irony in the story, in the midst of all this troubles and difficult times, one can still rise above them all . Yes the world is troubled but you can have peace even in the midst of the trouble. Doing what God says save us from troubles. When Jesus was still a baby, God through His Angel directed Joseph and Mary to take the baby to Egypt. They obeyed and their lives were saved.

Yes, the world is in a crisis, but you don't have to be in crisis. Prospering in these difficult times is very possible but only in God.

A child of God is not of this world though he/she is in this world. God is greater than the world and He lives inside us and through Him, we are able to overcome the world and subdue it.

When the world is saying there is a casting down, God has always made a lifting up of His children.

In Genesis 26, the earth was in a difficult season during the time of Issac. Make no mistake about this, there had always been famine throughout biblical history yet that didn't stop the prosperity of God's people. There was famine in the Land and Issac sought to relocate abroad for greener pastures but God told him to stay (DIRECTION).

Help doesn't come from abroad but only from above. Proverbs 3:5 says Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In times of crisis, we should always allow God to lead us. He knows everything that is happening even before they happen. God knows everything and He is our best Guide through which we can navigate this crisis the world is into. God practically led Issac just as He did with his dad, Abraham.

God told Issac to stay in the land where He is because though things are tough, He will make him prosperous. With God, the economic crisis of the world is not a barrier to Him blessing us. When we obey the leading of God through the Holy Spirit, we can be sure of a guaranteed success.

Many seek greener pastures away from where they are without consulting God. Proverb 14:12 says There is a way that seem right unto a man but the end thereof is destruction. Seeking solution outside of God is dangerous. Most people should be struggling less only if they could  ask God for direction. We go to seminars seeking directions, we do courses that will tell us how to be rich in these difficult times, so many training while all these are good, God should be our first call when we need direction on what to do.

You struggle less when you allow God to direct you. While God is not unaware of what is going on the world, it has little or no impact on His plans and purpose for you. God can bless you and lift you know even in midst of all the troubles around you.

God knows the best for us and good news is He want the best for us as well. But we wouldn't be able to know and have that best if we are not close to Him. Accepting Jesus as the Lord of your Life and your Saviour is the first step in getting closer to God. Second step is praying Him to guide youn how to navigate this crisis. Should you do this or not? should you go this way or stay? And many more questions like that only Him (God) could help us.

I pray for you that you shall prosper in these difficult times, the Lord God will guide you and hold you be hand to navigate this crisis-ridden world. I declare you are immune to economic hardship because the Lord is your shepherd. You are bless in your going out and coming in. You will keep rising even in drowning economy in the name of Jesus. Amen!

Stay safe and stay blessed!

Made a Way: The Story Behind The Song

Made a way is a song written and sang by award winning artist Travis Greene in the year 2015. Many people knows the song but few actually know the story behind the song. The song was actually borne out of a personal testimony of Travis Greene. According to the artist, 'Made a Way' was written during an impossible situation. His pregnant wife’s water broke at 21 weeks, when pregnancy normally takes between 37-42 weeks. The doctors said the possibility of the baby’s survival is slim to none, and it was during this period when his wife was on bed rest for two months that he wrote the song. There was nothing else for them to hold on to but faith, and the good news is that as slim as the chance was, it didn’t break because faith held it together and today their baby boy is alive.  When Jesus was on His way to heal Jairus’s daughter and news came that things had gone from bad to worse, that the girl was dead. Jesus overheard and said, "Don't be upset. Just trust me

Lessons From the Sons of Sceva

....the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? - Acts 19:15 One funny incident that I read in the  Bible is about the seven sons of Sceva that attempted to use the Name of Jesus to cast out demons. The demons replied them that He knows Jesus and Paul, but who are they? They were given the beating of their life. (Acts 19:11-16) Were they wrong in using the Name of Jesus? No. But truth is they don't know nor understand that Name. They only want to use it selfishly just to get the results that Paul was getting. They thought it was a rocket science. Many at times we believers are like that; We live in sin , we disobey God and when we need something, we want to perform miracles, do signs and wonders in the Name of Jesus which we really belittle or don't value.  Someone once said during a plane turbulence, he saw unbelievers even shouting the name of Jesus. No wonder some folks suffered embarrassment like the sons of Sceva.  When
